Privacy Information for Tenants In Properties Managed By Nesbitt Realty

During your tenancy, the rental property is your space and we respect you and your privacy. Nesbitt Realty has the right to reasonable entry of your rental property, but we will never abuse that right. If Nesbitt Realty has a good reason to enter the property, you must allow us to enter your rental property. Some good reasons are enter the property are to:

  • Inspect the property,
  • Make repairs or decorate,
  • Make alterations or improvements,
  • Supply necessary or agreed services, or
  • Show the rental property to prospective or actual purchasers, mortgagees, tenants, workmen, or contractors.

Nesbitt Realty will always strive to give you notice and obtain your consent prior to entering your residence. However, Nesbitt Realty can and will enter the rental property without your consent in emergency situations. We will never abuse the right of entrance or use it to harass you. Nesbitt Realty will only enter at reasonable hours of the day, except in an emergency.

Nesbitt Realty will not give information about you to anyone other than the landlord and the landlord's attorney or lender except in special situations when:

  • you have given written permission;
  • the information is a matter of public record;
  • the information is a summary of your payment record, including the amount;
  • the information is a copy of a noncompliance notice that has not been remedied;
  • the information is requested using a subpoena in a civil case;
  • the information is requested by a law-enforcement or public-safety agent;
  • the information is requested by the purchaser of the property proving the purchaser agrees to keep the information confidential;
  • the information is provided in the case of an emergency;
  • the information is requested by a commanding officer, a military housing officer, or the military attorney of the tenant.
